Tidelock Command

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Tidelock Command drops you in charge of a cluster of reef colonies that drifting raider fleets keep trying to pick apart. It's a real-time strategy game, but a gentle one, with a pause-and-plan button that lets you breathe before issuing orders. You build defensive platforms, reroute supply currents, and position your small fleet to cover the gaps.

The tide mechanic is the heart of it. The sea level shifts on a timer, opening and closing channels, which means a defensive line that worked last cycle might be useless now. It forces you to keep adapting instead of turtling up.

The touch controls can feel cramped on a phone, honestly, and I'd recommend a tablet. But the campaign is well-structured and the difficulty curve is fair. A solid thinker for strategy fans who don't want a fifty-hour commitment.
