Paper Expedition
★★★★★ 4.7
Paper Expedition is a point-and-click adventure where the whole world is made of folded paper, and folding is also how you solve puzzles. Tap and drag to crease a mountain flat into a bridge, or fold a river out of the way. It's a lovely idea and the game keeps finding new ways to use it.
The story follows a little paper explorer searching for a missing cartographer, and it's told almost entirely without words, through gorgeous hand-drawn scenes. Puzzles are logical, never the kind of moon-logic nonsense old adventure games were cursed with.
It's short, maybe three or four hours, but I didn't want it padded any longer. Every scene felt intentional. Easily the most charming adventure game I've played on mobile in ages.
What we liked
- Folding mechanic reused cleverly throughout
- Wordless, beautifully hand-drawn storytelling
- Fair puzzles with no moon logic
